United Youth Marine Cadets traces its lineage back to June of 1994 when Colonel Elvis Estevez founded First Marine Cadet Corps, Inc. (FMCC) in Saint Martin of Tours Church in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn, NY.  Were as UYMC Founding Execuitve Director Major McCullough and UYMC Corps Sergeant Major, SgtMaj. Philibert were both dedicated cadets in that program which kept them focused on graduating high school, and being proactive in the community.

In the spring of 1997, Estevez became aware of Harlem Youth Marines, Inc. (HYMC) and made contact with its founder, Colonel Gregory Collins.  Together, Estevez and Collins took their respective groups and formed a cadet alliance.  In the fall of 1997, Estevez and Collins got in contact with the late Vice Admiral James DeMattis, founder of U.S. Navy Armed Guard Cadets, Inc. (USNAGC) who entered the cadet council.

In 2000, Estevez succeeded in taking his after school cadet program and turning it into All City Leadership Academy. (ACLA) is a smallgrades 6-12 school located in  Bushwick, Brooklyn. Attendance is high and nearly every student graduates on time. Most students go onto college and a few have even been admitted to Ivy League schools like Yale and Cornell.

Inspired by Colonel Estevez's application of the USMC's leadership traits and principles, United Youth Marine Cadets aims to enrich several young boys and girls to become positive, proactive and persevering men and woman.  Our philosophy is:

"If we focus on solving the problems of our youth today, then there's a high probability that we won't have as many issues with the adults of tomorrow." and thus, Brooklyn Youth Marines, Inc. was founded on 14 September 2012, incorporated on 22 April 2013.

On October of 2014 UYMC partnerd with BMLA to expand UYMC and allowed the expansion and partnership together and merge to make United Youth Marine Cadets, Inc. a much more stronger Corps together.  In January 2015

Major Malachi Orr was appointed the Execuitive Director/Battalion Commander of UYMC after its Former Executive Director/Founder Major McCullough.

In April 2015 UYMC was Incorporated through the state of New York and added Major J. Perry & 1Lt. L. Wingster as partners. The three partners make up part of the UYMC Executive Team were they collectively run the day to day operations and management of UYMC. Our Cadet Program currently serves New York City, Westchester and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
